Sanding

Sanding is imperative to achieve great results when you refinish your hardwood floor. That is why our craftsmen always approach the procedure with the utmost care and professionalism, as oppose to other Chicago hardwood flooring companies. For floors with a lot of scratches and other faults we work in layers to ensure that they are all removed even from hard to reach corner. We use different grades of sandpaper base on the scale of imperfections on the floor ranging from fine to medium and rough to extra rough.

Our craftsmen use the Bona Atomic Dust Containment System (DCS) which is designed to effectively contain dust and allow us to maintain a safe and healthy jobsite environment.  Dust produced by the sanding process is transferred to and sealed in a container included on the machine. It eliminates the need to sealed off rooms in your building but we like to take extra precautions and cover your valuable appliances and furniture. Filling

Once the sanding process is completed we’ll remove any unsightly cracks or gaps that may have appeared Almost every hardwood floor will suffer some damage over time, especially with factors such as seasonal temperature changes affecting them. Winter especially can have a devastating effect on your hardwood floors causing gaps to appear in the floor. When this happens you’ll need to repair the gaps to prevent dirt and other debris from settling in the cracks. We’ll assess the gaps in your floor and fill them in proficiently, leaving no room for dust to settle.  

Staining

This is where you really get to bring out the natural beauty of your hardwood floor. We’ll begin the staining process by applying a stain of your choice. Once the stain has dried we’ll follow up with several applications. To produce the best results, we’ll screen, buff and vacuum between applications.

We’ll present you with a selection of durable, environmentally friendly and safe stains from popular brands to choose from. These include stains from Bona®, Basic Coating, Benjamin Moore, DuraSeal, MinWax, Flecto Fuller O’Brien, Glitsa, McCloskey, Pratt & Lambert, Zar and others.
